Corsan is a company of the Aegea Group, one of the leaders in Brazil’s sanitation sector.
We are the largest sanitation company in the southern State of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), serving 317 of a total of 497 municipalities. This corresponds to more than 7 million people or two-thirds of the state’s population. The company operates sanitation assets through concession contracts that cover the entire water cycle – supply, collection, and wastewater treatment.
Corsan was created by the State Government of Rio Grande do Sul on December 21, 1965, and was acquired by the Aegea Group in the privatization auction of the company, held in December 2022. The transfer of control was completed on July 7, 2023.
Throughout decades of history, Corsan has contributed to the health and dignity of the people of Rio Grande do Sul, bringing treated water to all corners of the state. Today, Corsan and Aegea work together with the primary goal of ensuring the universalization of urban wastewater collection and treatment services, which will reach 90% of households served by 2033.
